When you want to study or work in a foreign country a diploma-description gives foreign authorities insight into the level of education you received in the Netherlands. Diploma-descriptions are issued for diploma's that are recognized by the Dutch Ministry of Education.

Applications for a diploma-description can be submitted at: 

• the Nuffic for diploma's of higher education.
• the Colo for diploma's of senior secondary professional education and apprenticeship courses.
• DUO for diploma's of courses of general secondary education.    

DUO can supply you with an extensive version. This version contains more detailed course information as well as your personal data: the extensive version can be issued in either Dutch or English. The costs for this description are € 57,00.

The standard version contains general information about your education and can be downloaded for free from www.europass.nl. This description is issued in Dutch and will soon also be available in English.
